Lyon has worked the last twenty-two years in leadership at Wolters Kluwer in their Tax Compliance business unit serving as a Product Manager and Senior Manager over several large, diverse, client facing teams. In both roles, Lyon translated the needs requirements of global clients into award winning technology products, executing large, strategic endeavors on time and under budget.

 

Lyon, a U.S. Navy Veteran, serves as the Kansas Director of Objective Zero, an online platform working to end suicide amongst the service member and veteran population. She sits on the Board of the Veterans Community Partnership Team consisting of a wide range of community leaders and businesses that assist both veterans and their families with their needs. Her local philanthropic work consists of Habitat for Humanity, Women’s Crisis Center, Inter-Faith Ministries, and served on the Board for the YMCA Camp and Childcare division.

 

Lyon is running for Senate District 30 because she believes in service to her country and community and believes that the State of Kansas deserves and can do better. As your Senator, Lyon will place emphasis on the following:

 

  • Eradicate the use of special interest groups such as ALEC in drafting our legislation

  • Appropriately funding public education – Responsible budgeting while considering student success

  • Funding infrastructure that supports job growth with steadfast recruitment of quality companies and jobs to Kansas

  • Equality for all; repealing discriminatory legislation, ensuring safety and opportunity for all Kansas citizens

  • Strategically rebuild our economy, knowing pandemic preparation is at forefront, ensuring the protection of life

  • Expansion of Medicaid that will sustain our rural hospitals and ensure healthy Kansans

  • Protection of women’s health choices and accessibility to medical facilities
